McCray holds a Bachelor of Science degree (BS) in Business Finance from the University of Central Florida.

As a player, McCray played Offensive Line in the Inaugural Season of college football at Shaw University in Raliegh North Carolina. McCray was a member of the 1999 and 2001 FHSAA State Champion Lincoln High School football teams under Hall of Fame Coach David Wilson.

A native of Tallahassee, Fl, McCray and his wife Shannon have one child Nevaeh (17).
